Work towards artistry in your practice with our comprehensive CPD options.
The Conflict Management Academy offers a comprehensive suite of CPD opportunities to suit mediators and coaches, from newly accredited to advanced practitioners. Along with online webinars (live and on-demand) and longer online training courses, we provide reflective practice groups, supervision, the REAL Practice Lab, the Mediator’s Dilemma hypothetical series, business development and marketing support, and artistry drop in sessions. We can also help you with finding resources (e.g. academic research, role plays, training activities) to support your practice.
CMA offers a range of online training courses, some fully flexible and others with live online sessions, to help you develop your skills towards artistry. All our courses are designed by experts in the field and focus on providing practical skills you can implement right away. All courses come with a workbook to support your learning and reflective practice.
CMA offers regular webinars presented by international experts in the field of conflict. These webinars are offered both live and on-demand so that you can view them at times and places convenient for you. Keep up with the latest developments in the field, and access micro-learning opportunities with our webinar series.
Our monthly small group reflective practice sessions are opportunities for you to share your experiences with peers and to learn from one another and your own reflections. These sessions are fundamentally important in a field in which we tend to work alone, and will enhance your practice dramatically.
Supervision is essential in a field such as mediation and coaching to provide you with professional support and guidance in your practice. We have experienced supervisors available for individual or small group supervision. Supervision sessions can be booked regularly, or on an as-needs basis.
The REAL Practice Lab provides an opportunity for everyone from newly trained students to experienced practitioners to practice their mediation / coaching skills and observe others in practice. Members of the REAL Practice Lab can book a practice session using our members directory, and use the virtual lab to record their mediation or coaching session. Everyone is then provided with a link to the recording and a transcript, and this is added to the REAL Practice Lab library. Members can then view the sessions, provide feedback, ask questions and discuss the session with peers and experienced practitioners. Individual mentoring is also available from senior practitioners. The REAL Practice Lab provides a terrific opportunity to practice, observe, and receive feedback and experience in a safe and supportive environment.
The CMA runs live online hypotheticals as part of its Mediator Dilemmas Series. These are especially challenging case studies presented by senior practitioners. Attendees discuss the case studies in stages and hypothesize how they would have responded to each event. They then discover how the mediator actually responded at each step of the way, and the actual outcomes. These sessions have been likened to 'CSI' meets 'choose-your-own-adventure' meets mediation! Participants find them highly engaging and valuable.
Along with our Beyond the Table: Business development and marketing for the conflict practitioner, we run regular Business Brainstorming Sessions for practitioners to discuss their challenges in the business side of their work. Whether it's IT, networking, documentation, finding clients, or some other business dilemma, these sessions will help you find resources and solutions.
Got a question? Want some skills practice? Curious about a current topic? Interested in networking with other practitioners? Our monthly Artistry Drop-In sessions are informal opportunities to get together with peers and talk about whatever is on your mind or just listen to what others are discussing.
Each month we offer a Masterclass covering a topical issue or skill, presented by experts in the field. These are in-depth sessions including a presentation followed by Q&A and discussion.
Looking for resources? Whether you're searching for research, a book on a particular topic, tools, activities or an expert in a particular field, we can help! We have a large network of contacts across a range of disciplines, and if we don't have what you are looking for, we probably know someone who does! Use the CMA networks to help you locate the resources you need.
